For every hundred companies that are trying to figure out how to make money using Social Media, there are a thousand who are not trying.
Some are playing around with it, but have no clue as to what to do with it.
Others are looking at social media as something they should do.
And there are still a bunch who just wish it would go away.
But in the meantime, there’s you and me and our friends/followers and our collective voices.
Go ahead and use it.
Spread some love.
Complain when you need to.
(By the way, try and include the company in your praise or complaint, so they can respond and perhaps fix the problem or pass on the love to the folks who need to see it.)
We live in an age that was leveled the communication playing field in many ways. It’s up to each of us to decide if we will use this social media power.
There’s another category and believe me it’s easy to get caught up in it – complacent users. If you’re doing social media the same way you did last year or the year before… you’re doing it wrong. SM is fluid and to be effective we must flow with it.
Randy, you are so on target. Except it’s not changes from year to year, it’s staying on top of monthly or weekly changes.
When I was only using Facebook for my personal use, I found it annoying. Now as I use Facebook to promote to 150,000 fans on our company pages, these changes are usually improvements and it’s more exciting to see happen.
Challenging too, because Facebook is in the business to make money, so we need to stay on top f their ever changing Edgerank algorhythms , etc.
