I saw this chart last week that recaps which advertising mediums are growing and which are hurting. Radio and Digital media, the two areas I work in are doing pretty good according to this data:
Local radio, which is what I do with WOWO grew over 10% nationally. Meanwhile Print in the form of Free Standing Inserts, Newspapers and Magazines; and TV is in decline. I’m not surprised, are you?
Seems like there’s quite a few sources missing from the digital platforms category… nothing on mobile app display ads? That’s a pretty big category of spending isn’t it?
I agree that it appears several sources are missing Derek. However some of them were probably “lumped together”. Regarding the mobile app display ads, the way they are commonly sold these days are in a bundle that includes all forms of digital display ads. The way we do it at our Federated Digital Solutions division is that each campaign will include a portion of mobile ads unless the destination for the url link is not mobile friendly. In any case, it’s all done on a case by case basis.
