4-2-12 Ft. Wayne Site of the Day

It’s a brand new month and a brand new month of featuring Fort Wayne based websites.  April will have 21 sites since this is a 5 day a week feature.

    I love it that you do this… what started this series? Do you reach out to these businesses to let them know you are featuring them on your site? Your SEO (thanks to links) has to be huge for the city of Ft. Wayne! Keep it up man!

       Ricky,

      This was something I started a few years ago as a way to call attention to some other local bloggers.  I started in 2007 and found 30 local bloggers and would feature one every few days.  In 2008 I decided to expand and do 100 and include any local website.  At the end of the that year, I had several requests to pick up the feature and so in 2009 I began doing a daily Fort Wayne site of the day, 7 days a week.

      Last year when I consolidated all my blogs into one website, I kept it up until January of this year when I scaled back my updates to 5 days a week for the most part.

      No compensation or rewards except for the satisfaction and occasional thanks. (Wait, there was a 4 week time frame when I featured websites connected to the Annual Trolley Tour hosted by the Art Museum.  I got a few tickets for my promotional efforts).

      I take suggestions and try not to repeat any in the same year.

      I promote on Facebook, and Twitter and others do the same.
